Breast Lift in Austin TX

Over time, women can experience a loss of volume and lift in their breasts. The aging process can produce a droopy appearance that women find unsavory. Primarily, the culprit is aging but other life events such as pregnancy or dramatic weight loss can contribute to breast sag. Just because this is a part of aging doesn’t mean you can’t turn back the clock. At The Cosmetic Surgery Center of Austin Inc., we offer breast lift surgery, also called breast mastopexy, to help women regain the youthful shape, firmness, and volume of their breasts. Breast lift can often be performed in conjunction with breast enlargement to increase volume while elevating the bust line.

What is a Breast Lift?

As time passes, excess skin can form around the breasts. Sometimes the areola will become enlarged. To eliminate excess skin or reduce the size of the areola, Dr. Mosier and his team perform a Breast Lift (Mastopexy). A breast lift can successfully help you regain firmness and achieve a sleek contour. If you’re looking for better roundness and enlargement of the breast, check out our highly acclaimed breast augmentation procedure.

How does the Breast Lift Procedure work?

Typically, a breast lift surgery can take between 2 and 4 hours to complete depending the patient's breast condition. An incision around the areola is performed similar to process of inserting breast implants. To allow for more aggressive lifting and reshaping of the breast, more incisions will be made depending on the individual patient’s breast condition. To fully shape the breast, occasionally implants will be necessary. Check out the various types of breast impants here. Think a Breast Lift is the right fit for you? Am I good candidate for a Breast Lift?

To get a better idea if you are a good fit for a Breast Lift, Ask yourself these questions below:

  • Do your breasts have a elongated shape and appear to be flat in appearance and to the touch?
  • Does your nipple fall below the breast crease in a bra?
  • Do your nipples and areolas point downward?
  • Is One breast lower than the other?
  • Do you have enlarged areolas and stretched skin?

If you answered yes to the majority of these questions, you might be a great candidate for a breast lift. What Should I Expect After Surgery?

Once Surgery is complete, a surgical bra will be used to properly hold the breasts in place. You might feel some swelling and discomfort but Dr. Mosier and his staff are happy to prescribe medication to ease the pain. After a few days, a softer support bra will replace the bandages.

Around 5-7 days after surgery, most patients can return to work and go about normal daily activities. Of course, heavy lifting and excersise should be avoided after surgery. Please wait approximately 3 to 4 weeks to return to these types of activities.
